«The Biden-Harris Administration, in partnership with the city of Denver, Colorado, will host a Cities Summit in April 2023. The Cities Summit will empower individuals from all corners of our communities to strengthen the health, safety, resiliency, and economic development of cities and localities in our region. Cities and mayors grapple in tangible ways with our region’s greatest shared challenges, such as climate change, the digital divide, environmental pollution, and economic inequality. The Cities Summit will provide new opportunities for communities big and small to build a stronger and more equitable economic foundation, protect democratic institutions and processes, strengthen sustainable development, ensure a clean healthy environment for all, and spur innovation across the hemisphere.»
-Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken
“Cities are the economic engines, cultural centers and educational hubs of our nations. The work we do has the most direct impact on our residents, and where innovation has the best opportunity to thrive. Bringing together this diverse and international group of local leaders will foster collaboration like many mayors and city administrators have never before experienced and will foster an ecosystem of ideas that will benefit local communities throughout the hemisphere. I want to thank the Biden-Harris Administration for selecting Denver to host the first-ever Cities Summit. We’re honored to host this inaugural gathering and look forward to welcoming delegates from across the Americas to our great city for these critical conversations.”
